SITUATE - "THE EXCHANGE"
Situate is an international sculpture competition for Perth, Western Australia. There were 202 entries with 5 finalists, including Paul Dibble from New Zealand. This was my entry:
The two faces represent the Aboriginal and colonial people of Western Australia. I've used Ngalan (Light), a work by Brook Andrew as the basis of my Aboriginal woman. The European woman's face features flowing hair suggesting sailing journeys across the oceans.
An Exchange of words or Ideas. A cultural exchange. A commercial exchange.
Suggesting an understanding. Face to face. A meeting of souls.
